BBC Springwatch

As someone deeply passionate about wildlife and video production, I've always dreamed of merging these two interests into a future career. Intent on learning more, I reached out to Rosemary Edwards, the Series Editor of 'BBC Springwatch', who very kindly accepted my request for an interview.

Offering valuable insights into the intricate process of wildlife filmmaking, Rosemary shares the thrill of meeting different people on location - from cameramen and jib operators to specialist horticulturists and animal researchers. She also explores the challenges of live broadcasting and achieving the 'desired shot', which can often take hours or even days to capture.

Through this conversation, I learned the vital balance between informing and entertaining viewers without the need to lecture which later proved invaluable in my role as Communications & Creative Content Manager for David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation.

Above, I've included a very special snippet from Rosemary's interview which was filmed and edited independently
